Our goal is to help fitting specialists STAND OUT with a level of service and knowledge that sets them apart. These trained individuals can have a huge impact for a facilities equipment business in terms of building reputation, retaining clients, attracting new business and enjoying higher than average sales and margins.
We have flipped the normal fitting system on its head and developed an approach that STARTS with RESULTS for your clients first and foremost. The system that gets these results is visualised in the below graphic and is called 'Performance Fitting ™'.

Once you successfully adopt the Performance Fitting™ approach, you will see the effect on what we call the 6 R's visualised below. The ultimate impact will be an increase in your average sale per person and your margin.
The important distinction to make though, is that these are 'MEASURES' and NOT the 'FOCUS' which has to be on your clients 'RESULTS'. That is what the Performance Fitting™ service is all about.
TRAINING COURSE 1

This is our original training course. It consists of 6 x 1 hour (approx) training videos and goes over the entire process of how to create a stand out fitting business. It covers the planning and marketing aspects of your business as well as an in-depth look at your knowledge and how to create the results and experience your clients will love. The course is broken down into the following modules:

I created this course for golf facility owners and PGA Pro business owners to learn how to build an equipment business that will enhance every one of the 6 'R's in the above graphic. Having run 'The Custom Fit Expert' I realised that there was a need for something more entry level and solely focussed on fitting knowledge and how to apply that knowledge. I've designed this course to focus on the fundamentals that you need to have to become an outstanding fitter.
The course has been created in short(ish) videos that make it easy to digest and implement. When I wrote the content I had the following audience in mind:
- Assistant Pro's being asked to conduct fitting sessions by their Pro/Facility
- Newly Qualified Pro's looking to start their custom fit service

So who am I?
You may not know anything about us so very quickly a little about my background....
My name is Rhys Atkinson and I'm the founder of Eclipse Golf (an equipment fitting specialist company) and the 'Performance Fitting ™' approach.
I've been a fully qualified PGA professional for over 20 years’ and I've specialised in golf club fitting, club design, club building and club performance alterations.
I ran the Custom Fit and Product Training department at Callaway Golf Europe for 12 years, setting up Performance Centres worldwide. I created and delivered product and custom fit training training for hundreds of retailers across EMEA and wrote the Custom Fit Protocol and handbooks still in use today.
I also worked on the European Tour, tending to the equipment performance for 10 Major champions and over 100 of the world’s finest players including Seve Ballesteros, Annika Sörenstam, Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Els, José María Olazábal, Henrik Stenson, Michael Campbell, Thomas Bjorn, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Danny Willet, Paul Lawrie, Patrick Reid, Thomas Pieters, Alex Noren and many more.
Just as importantly I've also worked with thousands of club golfers from complete beginners to elite level amateurs.
I set up the training arm of Eclipse Golf to help facilities set up their own outstanding custom fit service for their clients using everything I've learned over the last 25 years.
Everything I teach, I use within my own business and I continue to improve the approach every day. You can consider the consumer facing arm of Eclipse Golf as the testing ground for knowledge, learning and concepts that I train you, the Pro's and Fitters in.

My approach follows the simple rule that the most important element of the fitting service is the fitter themselves and primarily their motivation, knowledge, experience and the approach they use.
The training concentrates on all of these elements and helps them implement it within a system that ensures the best results for their client.
The Performance Fitting ™ approach as outlined in earlier graphic is represented by the trademarked icon below in the centre of the graphic.
I developed this 'approach' because I could see there was a big difference between the standards of fitting service and golfers had no real way of knowing who the best person in their area was to go and see.
Ultimately my intention is to recognise & promote trained individuals with the Performance Fitting™ accreditation but the criteria and methodology need to be defined and developed first. The training options above are all part of the Performance Fitting ™ approach so a great place to start and a tiny investment for the value they will bring to you.
